Thinking about applying to the University of Michigan? There are some important changes for the class of 2027! U-M now offers three application plans for first-year students:
- Early Decision (new and binding) — November 1
- Early Action (non-binding) — November 1
- Regular Decision — February 1
Know the difference! Early Decision means that if you are admitted, you are committing to attend U-M and must withdraw your other college applications. Early Action allows you to receive an earlier decision while still comparing colleges and financial aid offers. U-M will remain test-optional for the 2027 application cycle, so students may choose whether to have ACT/SAT scores considered.
