MIA is a full time school located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, approximately forty- five minutes from Detroit and right across from the University of Michigan's North Campus. The school is approved by the Michigan State Department of Education to meet all the requirements of non-public schools.

MIA provides a comprehensive curriculum that offers students a broad range of both academic and religious subjects, including Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Mathematics, Computers, Science, Social Studies, Health, and Physical Education.

News Update

Fundraising Dinner
The Annual Gathering Dinner will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 starting at 4:30 PM at the Morris Lawrence Building. Tickets are for sale in the school office. Get more information by clicking the link on the left.

Science Fair
Science fair award ceremony is on March 25. Parents are welcome to attend.

Model UN
Sponsored by Bro. Sundiata and Bro Ahmed Huzair. Membership open to high school students. Students joined a conference at U of M, Ann Arbor. This excellent program encourages public speaking, global awareness, and knowledge of parliamentary procedures. There will be another program in April at MSU. Interested students should speak with Br. Sundiata.

Family Reading Night
Family reading night was on March 5, from 6-7 pm. A librarian from Ann Arbor Public Library shared a story. Arts and crafts were offered, and books were handed to students. Students published books were also available.

PTO Activities and sponsors

-Science Olympiads (Sr. Faiza Salam) our school is registered, we are waiting for packet to arrive to start the sessions.


Hot Lunch
Provided on Tuesday and Thursdays - $3.50 for middle and high School students, $3.00 for elementary students. (Sr. Muneeza Jaffer)

Sports activities
Soccer (Br. Abdul Hakim) weekly practice for elementary boys and girls.
Winter 2 tournaments started on Sunday, March 7th at Wide World Sports Center at 3:20pm. Please come and cheer on MIA team.
It was a good game, the results were 5 to 4 for the other team. Better luck next time inshallah.
