Walid Qoronfleh - President Brother Walid Qoronfleh holds a M.S. in Chemistry from the Illinois State University, a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and an MBA from Penn State University. He is the current Executive Director of SDIX (located in Newark, Delaware), Vice President of NextGen Sciences (Ann Arbor, Michigan), and Executive Director at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI). In addition, Dr. Qoronfleh is the founder and Managing Director of the consulting firm Q3CG, serving clients in the life science and biotechnology sectors. Dr. Qoronfleh has served as the Vice President of the MCA for two years. He also served in a leadership position at the Michigan Islamic Academy since 2006. He has been an Ann Arbor resident since 2005.

Samir Tout - Vice President Brother Samir Tout holds a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario and Nova Southeastern University, respectively. He draws on roughly 15 years of experience in the software industry under various capacities, including Chief Software Architect at several renowned companies, such as GMAC, GM OnStar, and others. He holds several professional certifications such as project management professional (PMP), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and has received two GM CIO awards for consulting excellence. Dr. Tout currently serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Technology Studies at Eastern Michigan University where he's the main advisor for the Ph.D. program in Technology - Information Assurance concentration. Dr. Tout has been in Ann Arbor for a total of 12 years. He served as the MCA president from 2006 to 2007. He joined the MIA board in early 2009.

Mateen Jaffer - Treasurer Brother Mateen Jaffer holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and is currently working on an M.S. in Electrical Engineering (expected in 2012). Mateen Jaffer is the founder and CEO of Jafferson Computers located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Prior to Jafferson Computers, Brother Mateen Jaffer was Senior telecom engineer at Saudi Telecom in Riyadh SA, network engineer at Alactel (Plano, TX), and electrical engineer at General Dynamics Land System Division (Sterling Heights, MI). Brother Mateen Jaffer has been a member of the MIA board of directors since 2008. Brother Mateen Jaffer is a 20 year resident of this community.

Mohammad Joz - Secretary Brother Mohammed Joz, a Registered Nurse, holds a Masters in Nursing and Health Care Administration. He closely works with State of Michigan programs in addressing the health issues of Michigan Older Adults and Disabled patients. Br. Joz is a successful entrepreneur. Br. Joz operates many health care facilities in Southeast Michigan, serving as Director and Administrator. Br. Joz has served the MIA Board since last year and is currently the Secretary of the board. He has been living in the area for 10 years.

Nabeela Jaffer - PTO Representative Sister Nabeela Jaffer holds a B.S. in Computer Science from FASTICS (Pakistan) and is currently working on an M.S. in Computer Science at Eastern Michigan University, expected December 2011. Sister Nabeela Jaffer is CEO and president at Jafferson Software & Technology Center, located in Ann Arbor. She has served on the PTO for two years and has been a member of this community since 1995. Sister Nabeela Jaffer worked as a computer teacher at MIA from 2003-2005 and likes to volunteer at MIA as a parent in different capacities including the PTO. Sister Nabeela has three children at MIA: a 7th grader, a 4th grader, and one in Pre-K.

Khaled Elsayes - Member Brother Khaled Elsayes holds an M.D. and is Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Elsayes is author to more than 50 publications and has received 15 research, teaching international awards. In addition, he is an editorial board member of World Journal of Radiology and is a health care and clinical research consultant for Reuters. Dr. Elsayes is currently serving his second year on the MIA board of directors and has been a resident of the Ann Arbor community for three and half years.

Tarek Nahlawi - Member Brother Tarek Nahlawi holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan. Dr. Nahlawi is Managing Director at Dipsol Chemicals where he worked for the past 10 years. Prior to that, he was research manager at MacDermid USA. Dr. Nahlawi has served in the MIA board for about four years. Dr. Nahlawi is 24 year resident of this community.

Youcef ElMohri - Honorary Member Brother Youcef El-Mohri holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and is currently employed at the University of Michigan Medical Center as a Senior Research Scientist. His current field of expertise is x-ray detectors and their application for medical x-ray imaging. Dr. El-Mohri has been a member of the Ann Arbor community since 1993 and is currently serving as an honorary member of MIA board of directors. He has been involved with the MIA board for more than six years under various capacities: Secretary; Vice-President and President. Prior to joining the MIA board, Dr. El-Mohri was in charge of the MCA weekend school for three academic years.
